Ok, revisiting this old thread. i pulled this off...kind of. i was able to break out south of rostov and cut the rail about 9 hexes south of stalingrad. i simultaneously was able to make an unopposed landing in astrakhan(i took baku many turns ago). i was very happy. took a lot of planning, not sure it'd ever happen. but i've opened the next turn, and there are a few issues. #1-it does not appear that the soviets south of these rail junctions are now out of supply AFAI can tell. #2-even though i occupied astrakhan with marines last turn, when i attempted to ship in heavier formations this turn, i was told i didn't have enough landing ships-which i shouldn't need since i occupied the port last turn? also, even though they are sitting on the port, the marines show out of supply. is something wrong, or am i deeply misunderstanding how supply works?
