Hi all,
One thing I have noticed in CMO lately is that active radar homing missiles like the AMRAAM, PL-15 and JATM struggle to acquire VLO targets in terminal phase. After manually tinkering with the point at which the missile goes active, I can see this is largely because the missile is switching to autonomous onboard search too early, and missing the target entirely despite the fact that the parent aircraft still has a precise fix on the target aircraft with its own sensors. This got me wondering - is it possible to edit the range at which ARH missiles like the AMRAAM switch to onboard terminal homing?. Any input is much appreciated.
