ORIGINAL: halsey69 I thought Apple made Rosetta2 to translate Mac architecture back to Intel instructions for non-compatible software or ? Carrier Battles 4 Guadalcanal has not been optimised for the M1 architecture or BigSur but it was build using recent technology It is works on your M1, this is good news By the way, how do you feel your M1 so far ? Halsey69, The M1 is fantastic - super fast and much quieter than Intel/AMD models. Rosetta2 translates Mac Intel instructions, but the Apple processors do not support running Windows 10 (either via Bootcamp, Parallels or VMWare Fusion). Some people are running Windows ARM using Parallels but it is a work-in-progress. Unclear to me whether software for Win 10 runs in Win ARM - e.g. Microsoft Office - though that doesn't matter as there is a Mac version. The Intel version runs on the Apple processor using Rosetta2 and I think there is now an Apple version. It is more about a Windows 10 licence running under Windows ARM - I don't know. So that is one question - would a game built for Windows 10 run under Windows ARM? Since Catalina (OS before current Big Sur), Apple dropped support for 32 bit apps so only 64 bit Mac software now runs. In theory, a 64 bit Mac game should run on the Apple processor. As far as I can see, there is not much focus on how to run wargames on Apple processors, or who will support them. e.g. Do the Matrix Mac games run on Catalina and Big Sur? Do the Windows 10 games run under Windows ARM? There are websites that show how to run games on the Apple processors, but they focus on FPS: Apple Silicon Games So if anyone can shed any light it would be appreciated. Thanks
