conao -> How to get resolution to work? (1/7/2021 10:27:57 AM)

Hi all,

I just installed the game but cannot get the resolution to work properly. I have an ultra-wide monitor (3440x1440) but I guess the game cannot cope with that. I'd be happy if I could get at least a 1920x1080, though, but it doesn't seem to work with the command line switches. I tried fullscreen and windowed, with no success. In fullscreen, it keeps fighting with Win10 for the screen resolution and it switches back and forth between my native resolution and whatever I configure for the game. In windowed mode, it doesn't go beyond 1280x960, although I used the following switches: -w -px1920 -py1080. Basically, it always keeps the opening screen resolution.

What do I have to do to run it in my system?

The opening screen resolution is fixed and cannot be changed.  The question is what is being shown for the subsequent game screens.

The subsequent screens remain in the 1280x960 resolution, no matter what I set in the command line in windowed mode. Unless my command line is wrong. Here is a copy of it.

-skipVideo -w –px1920 –py1080

You have to check if your monitor supports the 1920x1080 resolution

I have a 15.6 inch laptop with the max resolution of 1920x1080. I play at 1600x900 resolution, because at higher resolutions fonts and letters are too small. The 1600x900 resolution is one of full screen resolutions supported by my monitor

Here is my switch line:

-altFont -skipVideo -archive -deepColor -dd_sw -px1600 -py900

You are using the wrong dash. Don't copy and paste, you have to manually key in the proper dash.

My goodness, what a pair of sharp eyes you have, Alfred! That was it. I can run it in 1920x1080 in window mode now. It doesn't seem to go beyond that but it's fine. Thanks!

Next issue then... if I hover my mouse over something on the map that shows a tooltip, when the tooltip disappears it's replaced by a random part of the map, not by what was really below it. Looks like some map/screen refresh issue. I noticed that if I then hover the mouse over an icon on the top bar that also opens a tooltip, that will refresh the map. :-)

Any ideas about this one?

Edit: never mind... solved with the -dd_sw switch.

Happens to me when I play full screen. Some graphics error so I always use windowed mode.
