Hey Vic,

I listened to the podcast and you tentatively mentioned navies, continents and ocean planets. Das touched upon the change in planet generation it will entail (not needing a landroute everywhere). If that's the case, could it be possible that you relax the planet generation sooner? With airforce it's already possible to reach further and over obstacles. Perhaps as a test? I would love continents and islands!

The issue I see is with base asumption of the design.
Everything still needs a road connection to a SHQ. And SHQ propably need road connections between each other.
Train and Airbridges (wich are propably 90% the code for trains) do not fullfill the "connected" need.
A island - by definition - can have no road connection to a SHQ!

It is something he would have to change for Navies as well (I would say that change is 20-50% of the programming work for Navies). But then he would also be adding Navies, wich justifies such a major rework.

Hope seems okay, but only a faint one.
