Raver508 -> Another bug (1/15/2021 7:52:28 PM)

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this. I've started a PBEM game against a new opponent (Soviet Union 41). I played the first turn as axis just fine, but when I load up my opponents turn I get to the point where I put my password in, and then the game goes non-responsive. I've tried multiple times and waited as long as possible, and my opponent has also tried replaying the turn. No joy.

What does "as long as possible" mean?

Raver508 -> RE: Another bug (1/15/2021 8:33:39 PM)

Oh about an hour or so - until I need to do something else on the computer

Try running it overnight.

Thanks. Well that kind of worked. It got through that screen overnight, but took another half hour to get through the next one, and another half hour on I'm still no into the game itself.

Is this a common thing people experience? Is it just my computer not having enough processing power for the game?

There are a plethora of different hardware/software configurations for PCs so not each one will run the same software in the same way. Your machine could be up to snuff but something hardware or software related may be causing problems. Sometimes it's drivers. Sometimes it's anti viral software. Sometimes it's hard to impossible to pin down.

Which operating system are you running? Win10?

Try turning the sound off. That's helped in cases similar to this.

I am the other player involved :). I have also sent Raver a turn form another
scenario of similar size...Raver was able to open it just fine. We also checked that we are using the same TOAW version.
Btw I have Windows 10.
