1jasonoz -> Alternative August 1941 offensive (1/24/2021 8:47:44 AM)

Im wondering if any of the WITE moding guru's is up for a challenge to design a "What If" mod for WITE for me/other gamers?

As we all know the big question for Eastern front WW2 has always been in regards to 1941, "what if" the Germans didn't turn south and attack Kiev, but instead made Moscow the prime target for the offensive.

Is a WITE mod guru able to do an alternative scenario where Hitler Directive 33 wasn't issued in July 41, but instead the continuation of an attack on Moscow was carried on from Aug 41. With the German player deciding to take Moscow in Sept 41 if possible, do the Soviets our Kiew attack the rear of the Germans? And then do the Germans decide what the next moves are; dig in for the mud/snow winter, or send the Panzers south to take out the Kiev bulge before the Rasputitsa arrived?

Much appreciated if someone can do this, I understand it might be a massive ask.

Jason

I would like to know if the challenge is still there... Let me know tanks, either side would be fine. If is the middle word of life.

Hi there.

My post was in regards to someone being able to develop a mod for a 1941 scenario, a"what if" the Germans didn't turn south and attack Kiev, but instead made Moscow the prime target for the offensive in August.

I'd love to try the challenge of taking Moscow in August instead of moving south, and then seeing what would be the resulting moves; i.e, would the Germans try an attack south in October/November to take out the Kiev salient? Would the Kiev forces attack North into the rear of the Germans in August/Sept whilst the main German thrust was directed at Moscow?
