I suggested this on the WitE board back a while ago, create a web site where it could be a "living manual", like wikapedia, where it could get updated, linked to and perhaps viewable and downloadable by chapter and section or in all. I think it will be constantly getting updated, it will be "old" the second after you print it. This please. its actually not that easy to set up or maintain. While I guess you are both fully aware of this, its not simply a case of copying the text onto a web browser software. So as ever the enduring questions - who sets it up and gets it approved as 'official' (as opposed to a voluntary effort), who maintains it, who ensures it remains current when unofficial enthusiasm wanes? The WiTW model works well. The release manual is still perfectly useable, the Living Manual gives you very quick access to the current rules. So really it depends on what you are looking for at a particular moment. I think WiTE1 is misleading for a variety of reasons. First, the initial documentation is a child of its time. Second the sheer scale of the changes even up to the .6.xx patches and then the self-chosen redesigns since 07.xx (when 2by3 stopped doing the updates). Its quite feasible that WiTE2 will follow a post-release development path closer to WiTW, if so the release manual/living manual combination will work pretty well.
