Duncan Maggs -> Korsun Pocket - People's Wargames version (10/31/2003 2:28:11 AM)

I am not sure if this game was ever issued in a box. I bought mine in Dungeons and Starships in Birmingham England back in 1980 (I think!) and it came in a plastic bag. It cost me the princely sum of £12 which was quite a large amount at that time for what was essentially paper and cardboard and of course the plastic in the die (maybe two). Of course the price reflected the research and design rather than the components themselves. Although the game as devised by Jack was probably unplayable except by committed teams of players it was based on the Wacht Am Rhein system which was playable - especially by sixth formers or students with plenty of time on their hands! The aforementioned had to have access to a very large floorspace and be prepared to suffer periodic back pain for the wargaming art. After 20 years I can now play the Matrix/SSG version with out having to worry about domestic pets and women with vaccuum cleaners!
