Dgold -> Air Supply Questions (2/7/2021 8:41:56 PM)

What is the range of Air Supply to a ground unit?
Is this counted from a friendly air unit, or an HQ, in supply to the target ground unit?
Can it be dropped to a land unit in any terrain?
Can it be intercepted by enemy fighters?
If so, can it be escorted by friendly fighters?

Thanks for any answers.

From the manual:

quote:

Air Transport — Used for dropping paratroopers or giving supply to an out of map supply unit that hasn’t moved yet. They may be intercepted and shot down. Their availability resets each turn. Supply via air
transport adds 2 unit-supply levels and the base effectiveness amount of 6%. A player must have an air unit within 8 hexes of the land unit to perform a supply airlift.

I assume, yes

quote:

Can it be intercepted by enemy fighters?

I will say yes also the message is not very clear. The airlift mission is either successful either a failure. Why it is a failure I assume because of an interception but I wish more logs in the combat logs about this.

Very good question, I don't know. Same as above, more combat logs would determine if they are escorted or not.

the missions of paras and air resupply are escorted by the fighters that are within range, if there are enemy fighters within range there will be a combat between them that will determine the success or failure of the mission.

Mmmmm - does fighter units actually consume one operation point for escorting and, on the other side, for intercepting?
If there is air to air combat, do fighters suffer step losses from this air to air combat, can we see it in the combat logs?

AlvaroSousa -> RE: Air Supply Questions (2/8/2021 7:28:24 PM)

Of course it's just like any other mission.

ncc1701e -> RE: Air Supply Questions (2/8/2021 9:09:14 PM)

Just done a quick test, the report was indeed well enhanced. Thanks a lot.
But, looks like no operation point is consumed by the fighter unit escorting.

See here, all my fighters have two dots.

EDIT: But this is perhaps a good thing to have an extra mission. [:D]

I'll take a look thanks.

Thank you, this is beta 10U7 for your information. And, by the way, there is the same behavior with paradrop.
Starting Europe 1940 scenario.

As you can see the fighter unit do not consume one operational point for escorting.

I saw that too while looking at it and fixed it. I always assume you are posting on the beta
