APrusty -> Lyon and Marsaille or PLUNDER? (2/17/2021 12:08:40 AM)

[&o]Your opinions are appreciated

My opponent abandoned the Magiont-line after I plowed trough the lowlands.
Then he sent all land units to protect/get eaten up around Paris (there goes my plunder).

I had 6/1 odds vs INF, since french NM plummeted after my rapid advance to Paris, and unopposed capture of Maginot.
Now I will take Paris next turn.

Question 1:
What benefits do I get from taking Lyon and Marsaille, if I defeat France the same turn. Am I better of with the enemy units counting as plunder? Or will Germany actualy get NM points??

Question 2:
How much plunder do you think I will lose/get in plunder?
France has all navy units intact. While my opponent has sacrificed;
1HQ, 5Inf, 5Corps 1AA. Not Including minor losses.
Including 1engineer and 1corps If I take Lyon and Marseille

Question 1: Not much really, I don't think GER get an additional NM boost. Taking those cities may be na insurance policy, because France doesn't always quit when Paris is taken. And every turn matters.

Question 2: Hard to say, probably around 800-900. Remember that his sacrifice hastens his defeat, because lossess influence NM directly, and French NM is low.

Don't focus on loot, focus on killing him as fast as possible.

Marcions1985 is correct...

1) Taking Marseilles and Lyon only decreases French National Morale, so taking them on the same turn as France surrenders and especially if a surrender from National Morale being at zero, is just more of an insurance policy

2) Destroying French units will decrease your potential plunder, but it is a balance between how quickly you want them to surrender and how much plunder you want in the end. Just depends upon which you find is more pressing or important depending upon the game.

I believe the plunder amount relative to units is 5% of the current cost (e.g. if upgrades have been applied) of the unit for any remaining units, but even this once totaled up is multiplied by a multiplier to give it some variety from game to game. The multiplier is a random value between 1.5 to 2.
