It's been a while since I've played this. Want to see how it plays with updates. Question about HQ's and units attached to an HQ. Is there anyway to detach units from a HQ and attach to another HQ?

Units are not attached to HQs in Warplan. They are simply in the command radius of the HQ or not.

As it's written in the Manual page 65:

"When a unit is in combat, it will locate the closest HQ to its location within 5 hexes to call upon its general for support in the battle."

so just remeber this：

HQ command range 5 hexs. (dont need a general to do so)
HQ helps supply troops who are really in bad supply.(cant help when they can get supply easily.) (dont need a general to do so)
Generals helps combat slightly (really slightly)
