Not sure if this has been discussed before but I'm curious as to why abandoned games result in stalemates?

Surely the non-abandoner should be rewarded with a win? I know this is'nt really a serious issue but surely
a win status is in order for the player who had to wait weeks for his opponent to respond?

Abandonment rules are in place for tournament games.

Outside of the tournament, you are free to declare victory in any game you like.

I meant when the result is declared its given as a stalemate.

(Sorry I posted the wrong pic above and now I seem unable to delete it).

If your opponent gave up, you won. It does not matter what the "result" says. No one but you sees it anyway, so why does it matter? If the match is not being recorded, it is irrelevant, the computer does not feel any admiration for you when you win.

If you want your glory to be public, you have to join the tournament. But I must warn you, the level of competition is much higher than in random games. If you achieve notoriety there, you will have earned it.

Hi Falco148,

This is unfortunately a server setting which is beyond my control. A quick message to Matrix support might help as the more they know about issues or concerns like this, the more likely things can change.

Hubert
