Question: Is it possible to lose a ship in the ice? I am missing an army and a TRS last seen near one of the poles. I don't remember a combat report showing it being destroyed - and it doesn't appear on the detailed losses.

So where the hell is it?? Does the game allow this (engulfed in pack ice when straying too close in the winter) or is it on the moon with Elvis?

Ships can get stuck in the icepack yes

..not sure if they lose supply in there

What is TRS? transport?

But this isn't stuck in an ice pack. It's disappeared off the map. The ice has retreated and the army is gone. Yes TRS is MWIF for transport. Should have said T.

MWIF being the abbreviation for the wargame, Matrix World in Flames for those not aware.

In the Europe game I put a Monty HQ in the gateway to Brit. He never re-appeared. Maybe he's with them.

Hi Warspite1,

That's an odd one and I can't see anything in the code that would cause your units to disappear from being stuck in ice. They should be also able to move 1 hex at a time if I remember correctly when stuck in ice to eventually free themselves if they are likely to be stuck for a long period of time.

The units could also perhaps suffer from damage at sea and be lost that way, but you would have received damage messages or a lost at sea notification if messages are enabled. Damage at sea is only from storms and not from ice however.

Hubert
