tonyscrase -> trucks (2/27/2021 9:54:16 AM)

I am looking at the depot report in the Commanders report and shows several depots wirth large numbers of unused vehicles in them eg Foggia 10,314 and San Severo 7,635. In a couple of depots I am short of vehicles eg Fabriano which is using 7020 unit trucks. I think this means that all depot vehicles have been used and units are having to use their trucks to get supplies

How can I get vehicles to be redistubuted so they go to where they are needed

THANK YOU

its not easy.

To solve the truck allocation first set the depot to priority #0 and then a couple of turns later disband it. This will give time for the accumulated freight to be redistributed and shuffle the trucks off.

But its rarely that simple.

You need to look at why say Fabriano is 'short' of trucks. First truck allocation is related to depot size, so it may well be that depot can't take any more trucks. So even if its the only depot in Italy (clearly not a good idea), it will still be lacking some trucks for the local demand.

So there is a hard cap for trucks at a given depot. In turn, a few surpluses elsewhere is no big deal, better that (so you have spares in the wider region) than everything running at full capacity.

Next set of issues, look at your depot network. Do you have enough in the front line sectors? If its reliant on relatively small rail yards that is one solution - more depots.

Are the railyards damaged? that reduces depot capacity.

Are you sure your units are shedding their trucks to look for supply?

Remember that sometimes keeping units with high supply demand is not a good idea. Can you reduce their demand to level #2?, oddly you can end up with more MP/CV this way precisely as they are not shedding trucks to find the supply you have ordered for them.
