zgrssd -> [1.08.03b]Varrying HP on unarmored things (3/6/2021 1:14:50 PM)

When starting on a planet where there is no need for Environmental suits Infantry, MG infantry, Flak, AT and Artillery Infantry do not start with armor.
Also regardless of the planet, Trucks can not have armor.
So they should all have 50 HP (Infantry) or 70 HP (Trucks).

There is no armor roll dispalyed, yet despite that they have (often relevantly) varrying Hit Points. In a current game I had the infantry on the following hitpoint values:
38/52/37/44/44
Wich means the average infantry HP is only 43.

Not having any armor already makes starting infantry on Habitable planets extremely vulnerable. Adding to it by dropping below the Baseline 50HP only makes them worse off.

It is also confusing that there is no indication where this varaition in HP comes from. There might be some sense for varrying HP (representing stuff like Gun Shields or Ammo that is particulary likely to cook off) - however there should be some indication where it comes from/if a redesign can fix it.

I modified hte unit that has 52 HP by adding a padded E-Suit.
The Armor Roll was 96.
Wich was overriden to 104 "because previous model has higher value".

So there definitely is a Armor Roll taking place - it is just not dispalyed on the UI and or the Design Log if there is no Armor equipment present.

Excellent post!
Thanks i am adressing both issues for next open beta (missing log entries + the unarmoured guys getting the armour design modifier)

best wishes,
Vic
