Read the manual..

520 pages..
520 pages - that's half of War and Peace.
It took me 10 years to read War and Peace

Ok, so it's only half War and Peace; I guess that makes it the War part.

520 pages?

Loki
Loki - the government paid you to work from home in lockdown, not write a novel.
Hmmm... It had better have some jokes in it.

--------
Actually, I really only bought this as a thank you to Loki for his instructive AARs to Ageod games. I don't even like Eastern Front games - it's too cold or too hot or too muddy. Those poor French dying on the retreat from Moscow.

-------

Anyway, fire it up - AAArgh - now I see I could have got 30% off with an Easter coupon. You devils. Right rage quit.

It wasn't just the French dying in Russia with La Grande Armee containing numerous nationalities. Also, from what I understand, more died going into Russia than those coming out.

Doubtful that'll work for WITE2.

It should not, as far as I know.

No, you can't get 30% off. New games and DLC's are not a part of this deal.

In answer to the original question - play the Road to Leningrad Mission over and over till you understand the game.

I've been watching Strategy Gaming Dojo's youtube series called "War in the East 2: Basic Tutorial". Its 7 parts around an hour each so a lot of material to learn from. Easier to watch IMO than reading a manual

...Now what?
You negotiate with a favorite delivery service for better conditions and lock yourself in for days to study! [:D]

Watching tutorial videos is a rewarding additional route.

Strategy Gaming Dojo has created great basic tutorial videos that many are grateful for.
If you enjoyed these tutorial videos, as a small thank you, leave Strategy Gaming Dojo a thumbs up. [;)]

If you like the style of the YouTuber Strategy Gaming Dojo, you can also have a look at his "Let's Plays".

Print off the 1-page guides.

Follow the guided tutorial "4.19. STARTING THE INTRODUCTORY SCENARIO", page 92 of the PDF.

It's actually very good.

A few hours later and you'll be quietly confident... failing that, there's always the "U" key.

Indeed I was more than quietly confident after beating the tutorial comfortably on second attempt and jumped into Road to Leningrad full of misplaced smugness.

Three turns in Von Manstein's entire Panzer Command had been pocketed in a Soviet counter attack and I slunk away to restart[:D]

zakblood -> RE: Now what? (4/3/2021 2:44:35 PM)

i was one of the early testers, still not read the manual, have little interest in knowing how many beans and bullets either side use during a battle or the war as a whole, but played it like any counter moving games and loved it, mind you didn't like WITE but did like WITW, so WITE2 is better, easier and imo more fun to play with the help on, then again i play with FOW also off and enjoy losing as much as i do when i get a odd win, as long as the battle went as well as i hoped and also somewhat like the real one did....
