If I would to challenge any one for a Grand Campaign MP-game and patches arrives. Do one have to start all over again or is it possible to go on if both patch up?

usually the patches are save game friendly. The only thing that doesn't carry over is changes to the set up file - so terrain in a hex or an OOb issue where you are locked into whatever build you started with
