TallBlondJohn -> Can the map text colour be configured? (4/6/2021 9:54:05 PM)

I've found how to change the map text font and size (not that I want to) - FontConfig.txt

But is there a way to set the map text colour? I find the black and pale blue hard to read, would like to try some reds (it is mostly Soviet Russia after all)

Thanks

(Note this was previously posted in the main forum but I can't delete my threads yet)

You can change map text colour via the TEXT screen in the map editor. To access the map editor press ¬ whilst in map mode in the generic data editor.

Once in the map editor - select TEXT (top left). Each element of map text has a profile - this sets size, font, colour and transparency. The text is then attached to a hex and can be rotated or offset. Red dots show the origins.

Aha, lots to play with! To anybody else interested: Changes to the text values are only applied to a new game. ( I guess existing games use data stored in their save files).

Thanks very much

Is it possible to add a button to access the map editor? I don't have a ~ key on my keobard, and using ALT+126 or emulating it with Autohotkey does not work for me.

It's not impossible but at the moment it would be at the very bottom of the list of things we have to do I'm afraid.

Same problem here. On my german keyboard layout i have to press "Alt Gr + +" for tilde. It is impossible for me to use the map editor too at the moment. Does anybody else know some kind of a workaround for that?

same issue on my french azerty keyboard.

On a azerty keyboard try using the combo shift-alt to switch to qwerty - doing so can activate the tilde key above the TAB key.

Found a solution!

I've had to add UK keyboard layout in addition to my german layout in the win10 settings. Just click "Time & Language",
then on the left side "Language" and then under "Preferred languages" your language. Now you can choose "options" and add an additional keyboard layout.

Now you can change it under the language icon in your taskbar while youre in the game by "alt + tab" and use the key above the "tab" key to enter the map editor.
