Sorry if there already is an option to do this, besides the position in the airdirective list, that I'm not aware of.

It would be great when players can actually adjust the order of the execution of airdirectives after setting them up. Maybe just up and down arrows next to the ADs.
It seems the only way to adjust this afterwards is to delete the airdirectives below the position for the new ADs and do it all over again.

Simple case:
Turn 1: You want the recon missions for the airfields happen before the actual bombing. So you set up the recon and ground attack missions. But damn, you recognize that you've forgotten one recon mission or you change your mind and want to execute 3 smaller recons instaed of 2 bigger ones. In my understanding, as it is now, you have to delete the ground attacks (and every other ads "below"), setup the new recon, and redo the others. Just setting the new ads at the button and pressing the up arrow until it is in the desired position would be a nice quality of life feature.

the key is the priority order on the AD screen.

the actual sequence is by priority order and then by creation order, so if you tweak that option you can get exactly what you are asking for

edit: but its often not worth worrying over, its not as if recon missions and bombing missions are drawing off the same set of planes (there is usually no need to escort recon), and any feedback from recon to bombing happens for the next day, not within day

Thank you for the answer. Seems I've misunderstood the system.
