mikerohan -> [Logged] Possible path-finding issue? (4/11/2021 12:29:54 PM)

Hi,

I'm playing and enjoying "Northern Fury 36 - Wrestling an Octopus" [:D]

After several fights (land and air) I was experimenting what it seemed a very long "dull period"... No more land attacks...

I decided to switch to WP and I noticed several Soviet units that have a "dotted" path (automatic pathfinding?) but that are actually stopped... I let the time run for an hour and they do not move at all.

I know that it could be down to a lot of factors, but mostly:
- Old scenario not suited to changes in land movement (CMANO vs CMO)
- Un-fortunate error with the path-finding feature (bad luck in my gameplay)
- An actual bug with the path-finding feature (?)

It would be great if someone could take a look at it, just in case it's the path-finding feature to be blamed for.

([B1147.20])

Cheers!

I see that - notably it's the groups that fail to move, as individual (non grouped) units can be moved successfully.

If you zoom in and look at one of the groups (e.g. 1565), the individual units will show a course vector moving around, but no movement results. it looks like it may be something to do with being fixed in place by formation; if you detach one of the units from the formation you can then instruct it to move normally.

That's right! individual units do move as expeceted!

I see that it has been fixed in the latest Beta (Build 1147.22)

Thanks!

I'll try to re-play it asap.
