Good use of combined arms though by the Mickey Forces....snakes, alligators, and bats. Nice!

Hmm...seems Japan in the end was saved by a Kamikaze magical cloud. Could this have been well received in the US? What was Disney thinking of? Or was this really a Japanese production? Fred

That looks like a Felix the Cat clone acting as master of ceremonies. The whole style of the short is very reminiscent of famous US animators of the time, such as Max Fleischer and Ub Iwerks.

Apparently, it concerns the pending expiration of a naval treaty between the US and Japan in 1936.

Really strange. Japanese culture, as far as I know, was really more Samurai/strong back then, not cartoon. But when I was last there the train station was full of shops selling silly toys (silly IMO). I think you would need a lifetime of study to even come close to figuring it out. And my (mostly female) team - think I mentioned this before, could drink me under the table. And then you have the 'baby doll' thing happening as well (women dressing as children). I learn new things every day.
