Marder_MatrixForum -> objective problem (7/12/2001 1:11:00 AM)

I´ve made a scenario, and the computer starts to attack his two own objectives in turn 1(he is defender) even though they belong to him(points at the end of battle - objectives). Is this a bug or am i´m doing something wrong? Thanks for help! Marder

Check that you haven't accidentally placed two or more victory flags in the same hex? Just a thought... Voriax

Howdy :) Look at; -the formations Stance, is it set to defend or advance; do formations have objects set to that/those flags..( if set to 0.0 object and stance leaved to advance formations find best VO in nearby.) mosh and set the last VO flag in the stack to kind of what you want VO to be.

Many times when you place AI troops near a VH, they will move to take and "guard" that hex. I've had this happen even with AI set to defend,objective flag right on them, etc. It has to do with how near the troops are to the VH, and also what type of VH's you are using - point-per-turn, end of game, etc. So, as Mosh says, make sure AI is set to defend, and that the objective flag is placed right where the AI troops are. If that does not work, then you either have to move them farther away from the VH's, or try using a different type of VH, like point-per-turn ones for lower values.

There is also a "reaction" turn you can set in the editor, if you want to make sure the AI makes them stay put until the action starts, you can set the reaction turn (the turn they can start doing things)

First, thanks for your responses! I´ve done the mistake that i placed two objectives in the same hex. Now it works. Marder

Arghhhh!!! The ai struck back! Seems it just works if i give all the objectives 10 points then the ai behaves normal. If i give one of them more then 10 he starts to attack his own objectives, although all ai units are in defend status, no objectives in the same hex, and the units are 5 hexes "away" of the objectives.... Strange :confused: I think i´ll have to manage the problem with the reaction turn. The only thing that helps. Crazy ai´s are the hardest opponents! Marder :(
