Hi ALvaro,

I'm making these post because I want to enjoy and play the game. I don't want to be mean but it is hard to not get frustrated.

FLEET OR RAIDER MODE:

Incidentally, throughout the game manual it is sorely lacking in this detail. Every time you include one of the tables you should always make sure it is clear if you are talking about Raider or Fleet mode.

I would recommend you do away with these different modes in your next game. Almost impossible to conduct naval warfare because there are too many variables to keep track of. I'm getting ready to shelve the game because of all the possible combinations and then throw in convoy routes and Pursuit and it is just one big guessing game as to how, when and where naval combat might occur or might not occur. I am going to embed a spreadsheet I spent hours on yesterday just to try and get a handle on this. I would upload it but that is impossible.

well, that didn't work. I will try a snip it now.

Too big for a snip it. Forget it.

It is a more advanced game than others in its category. But not WitP monster.

Sorry you are frustrated. If you watch warplan, naval tutorials it make it easier. On the road now but see if I can pop some up

I recommend just following along with Strategy Gaming Dojo's Lets Player series at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_L6W5dZZmc&list=PLSgMOSrhbsUZHXBhwR_N__XE35mXdki6x

He explains the game as he plays and its far easier to follow than the manual or learning by yourself. Its not how to play perfect but it'll teach the basics

ksnoopy is right, "Strategy Gaming Dojo" is excellent to watch. He goes slow and explains it well.

Also recommend "WW2 Boardgamer0100" He has some short videos that explains how things work. Its mostly Warplan and not Warplan Pacific but its the same engine and you may find topics there that you are looking for.

Raider mode - you want to attack convoys
fleet mode - everything else, from surface action to carrier action, shore bombardment, blockading, intercepting, pursuit

naval action can take place in your turn - you move to attack (you may be intercepted, you may be pursued); in all instance you will have to 'find' the enemy fleet for action to take place

it can take place in the other player's turn - pursuit, intercept - again if you find the enemy fleet

It's really as simple as that. The recon, finding the enemy ships, is done 'under the hood.'

I suggest you play a game without concern for any of the nuances, just see what happens as you put your fleets to sea and available for action of whatever type. As you witness battles, you'll learn the nuances.
