Folks

A bit of a weird question, back in the day I used to use GMAPs to create overlays, it was dead easy go to a website, download the program, run the installer, then open it up.

These days theres some crazy archive you can download that has loads of JSON files , but no discernable intall file

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to get GMAPS again?

Thanks

Butch

Either grab a "hotbuild" or goto page two and grab the 1.7 2015 'stable' release.
That said per https://weaponsrelease.com/2017/10/29/command-modern-air-naval-operations-custom-overlays-campaign-overlays/
It suggested Codeplex has the latest, which as you've found out is now archived and is going away in 2 months.

If you grabbed the codeplex archive download (400mb) the files are there but you need to open releases\releaselist.json - in notepad and lookup the build you want and then rename that associated file [thename].zip. For example the last "stable" build listed for winforms (non mono) is in releases\3\02dcedfc-3189-412b-9107-c9ed7dc7fe5d, so rename it 02dcedfc-3189-412b-9107-c9ed7dc7fe5d.zip and open it. The latest hot build for example is releases/1/967f3971-9d18-47c9-9da2-1113c3554fd5 so tack on .zip to it's name if you want to open that one.

Or

If you just want the latest "hot build 1.7.5.0 (.net4 only)" from it I've attached it, as in the near future the Codeplex archive will not exist and the latest binary releases on the Github page seems to be two or three release behind what was on Codeplex.
Attachment: (~3.1mb) Greatmaps_HotBuild_1750_12-13-2016_dotnet4only.zip
