PBEM game.

Allies hold Deli, Ceylon, and Calcutta. Japan holds all other ports in India. Japan has no unit or controlled land west of Bombay and nothing in central India.

When I try to create a convoy from the UK to India I get a popup that says:
"No rail or convoy connection to Ally."

Why does all UK to India supply have to go through Bombay?

While I am here. Wake Island is a size 1 port, Midway is a size 2 port. Wake is actually a little bit bigger than Midway. Making Wake a size 2 port would allow the allies to base a land unit and an air group.

That's where the convoy lane goes.

As for Midway it's for coolness factor in June of 1942. No one fights over Wake Island.

Wow....diss'n hard on Wake [;)]

This is a death to strategy.

Now, Japanese players will know that if they take Bombay they can kill India eventually since it will not have enough production to reinforce its units.

Yes, the allied player can reinforce and protect it.

But now, in your "World War 2" game, you have the critical fight happening around Bombay in India.

Compare this to Australia that has 3 different ports that get connection to the allies.

Bombay is hard to take. There are no ports around it the Japanese can use to launch and invasion from.
The USA can reinforce it from many ports.

I challenge you on this. Test what I say or I will play you as the Japanese in the 41 scn.
I have explained it elsewhere.

I conquer all that Japan would normally take. I do not have to take from anywhere.
I move Kido Butai to the Bay of Bengal. it can be at Bombay Feb 1st. (Use Oilers already being built by Japan.)
I move units to the ports of Chumphon, Tavoy, Moulmein, and Taiping since it will be taken by the time this happens.
With Kido Butai guarding I move can move from any of this ports to Bombay using both 1 turn both operation points.
Invasion takes place on Feb 15th.

As stated elsewhere. The only things the Allies can do...
1) move entire Pacific fleet here. Kido Butai still has an advantage even if I, as Japan, do not send in my CVL. This also leaves the entire rest of the Pacific open.

2) The Allies can start pumping EVERY PP they have into India. As I stated in another thread this will give India a single infantry division to deploy March 15th. The earliest the UK can move a single division into India is April 12th.

3) What are you defending Bombay with. If you do not defend other ports I take them and march to Deli. If you try use units from Bombay I march in that way.

Test it out.
I will play Japan in PBEM if need.

This is a problem in the game.

A bigger problem is that this is the discussion for a WW2 Pacific theatre game.

If the Japanese Player decides to take Bombay they will do it before the UK and US gets transports. No way for either UK or US to send reinforcements. It just has an understrength Indian division holding it unless the Allied player strips his Burma line to hold the beaches around it.
