Just had the AI drop sub laid mines at Koepang. There were at least a dozen Dutch AMcs disbanded in port. Not one formed a TF on its own and cleared mines. I had to manually form multiple TFs to get the job done.

I won't believe these claims until I see proof.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I would think you might need to wait until the turn after the minefield is laid before you see the AMcs sweep, if that happens automatically. A lot of the housekeeping stuff like detecting minefields seems to happen at the very end of a turn, so reaction might be the turn after.

At most busy ports I typically have an ASW and a Coastal Minesweeping TF patrolling the port hex as basic components of port maintenance. I'll have to stand those down and await another opportunity to test this claim. Subs laying mines in my ports doesn't happen every day so it may be a long wait for a test case.

Agreed. I only can recall once or twice where I knew of the AI sweeping a port. Doesn't mean it hadn't occurred where I missed it.
