Sad! I enjoyed all three books.

Prayers for him and those closest to him.

FWIW he also wrote Ship of Ghosts; The USS Houston story , which was very enjoyable.

Ouch. I also have all the first three mentioned books. Not sure about the Houston book. I'm also pretty sure I attended an online seminar a few months ago where he was the headliner. Not 100% sure, memory and all. RIP

An author and historian whose works were an easy read but gripping by the way he put you right into the combat. RIP with our salutes.

Very sad. I just finished his book #3, Fleet at Flood Tide a couple months ago. Always found his research spot on and his prose easy to read. We lost good one.

Very sad news. RIP.

Have been re-reading "The Fleet At Flood Tide" - the book is on my nightstand now.

This is terrible news. His books were just superb. Neptune's Inferno is by far my favorite account of the Guadalcanal campaign. The audio version of this book is fantastic. Listened to it many times. God bless him and his family.

May he rest in peace. Really liked his style of writing.

Regards,
