Slush -> Is there any way to stop sudden victory (6/16/2021 2:58:16 PM)

So I sunk countless hours into playing the Soviets in the 1941 GC. I was doing rather well, and looking forward to the summer campaign of 1944, where I hoped to roll into Berlin.

Then boom! I achieved a decisive victory and it's game over. Bummer.

I thought sudden victory conditions only applied to the Axis when playing against the AI? Seems not. Is there any way, I can save my game apart from rolling back 20 turns, falling back and hoping the Germans will advance for enough. Or can I somehow edit my save game file?

If not, then for the love of your favourite deity: Can we PLEASE be allowed to turn off sudden victory conditions in the game menu? That would be very nice, thank you.

They’re working on a scenario without sudden death victory conditions. Bear in mind that the game is balanced around those conditions existing, so keeping them in place once you start playing humans is essential to avoiding shenanigans, and you’ll still probably want them even if you’re just playing a higher AI in order to keep yourself honest.

I don't know how well this will work, but I set all the sudden victory level points needed to 9,999 for both sides.

I also set the Axis Sudden Loss HWM to 370.

Then just remove the victory conditions, increase VP etc.

But do notice that this might screw something up, and the new game will start from turn 1...I think.

Just a friendly reminder for use a Scn file converted from a Sav file.

Any ETA for the new update?

Slush -> RE: Is there any way to stop sudden victory (6/17/2021 9:49:48 AM)

Thanks for all the help!

It doesn't quite work, though. When I modify my save game, all cities that had a historical city ownership change turn up with 100 % railyard and manpower damage. I could of course just edit all those hundreds of locations, but ... really, I just wanted to play the campaign to its natural finish instead of having Edolph rage quit on me.

as in the other thread - note this will be a distinct scenario with some of the conditions disabled, its not something that means you can modify any scenario or a current game
