ORIGINAL: PatSpe I'mplaying soviet GC against ai at 110 morale level. I read that increasing it t0 120 give the ai additional bonuses, what bonuses are they? Is it just more combat advantages? Would it make a big difference to set it to 115? the morale etc bonus scale, so their cv is multiplied by 1.15 or 1.20 etc. but at 120 some very specific issues happen. First all leadership tests are passed. Now this protects the AI against poor command chains but adds on quite a bonus given the number of tests in most turns. Second from June 41-Oct 41 and then May 42-Oct 42 the AI gets a very speficic combat bonus. Basically a battle is resolved as normal and then in some situations (invariably a Soviet retreat with low experience/TOE formations) additional losses occur as elements are damaged or disrupted. Run a battle at say speed #3 and you'll see this happen. Now this really changes the game. I think for the better but it can be frustrating. While the AI is good, it still doesn't make as many pockets as a competent player will. This routine generates a regular flow of depleted or shattered Soviet formations which goes a long way to compensate. If you want some idea how the AI on 125 morale behaves look at the pre-release Soviet AAR I produced.
