dickesKind -> grafic issues - visible/reachable hexes (7/3/2021 4:41:27 PM)

Hello everybody,

I have to problem that the "Visible Hexes" and "Reachable Hexes" button do not work properly.
When I use them the relevant hexes only get a very small bit darker showing no real different.
So sadly these options do not work for me.
Strange enough I wanted to make a screenshot but on the screenshots it looks like the options just work fine?!
All the not visible/reachable hexes are faded out on the screenshot - but not ingame.
I have no idea what is going on.

Also my units attributes window looks different that in the videos of the game I saw online. Mine is kinda transparent in the top right corner while in the videos there is an extra section for these data on the right side of the screen.

Maybe this has something to do with screen resolution?

I wanted to post some screenshots but the forum ist telling me:
"You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."
I have no idea what that means.

A minor problem: Can I somehow reduce the music volume? My ears explode every time the main menu loads.

Thanks for your help!

I hope this works.
This is from a youtube video:

And this from my PC.
On this screen the hexe are faded out correctly - but sadly this does work not ingame.
Also the right side of the screen looks different than in the video.

Looking at your screenshots, the greyed out areas are correct and look normal to me, but the screenshots are very small.

For this, what I do is find the main intro music files and delete them. I haven't figured a way to adjust that volume.

Which file is the intro music file?

Press U to make the right side look the same as in the video.

Try reading the game manual. It will explain the info boxes. The rest of your issues sounds like your computer. Try updating your graphics card driver (do you have a graphics card?). Also, calibrate your monitor. There are apps that will help you with this or you can look for help through youtube tutorials. It sounds like it's too bright or the contrast is off.

You don't mention your computer or monitor resolution. Laptop or PC? Try the highest recommended resolution for your system. Sound volume? Again, just turn down the volume on your computer. That will be controlled by your keyboard if not using external speakers. Your computer manufacturer should have manuals for your machine on their website.

Do some homework.

Dave

xbackg1.ogg is the main file, if I recall correctly

Hello everybody,

thank you for your answers so far.

Jason
Yes, the screenshot looks ok. As I wrote strangely ingame the hexes do not fade out but on the screenshot everything looks as it should.

I found out that I can solve the problem ingame when I reduce my desktop resolution to anything below 1920x1080 which is my standard resolution.
With this the visible/reachable hexes look as they should :)

I'll also try deleting the ogg file. Thank you for this tip.

Ashcloud
Thank you for the hint on the info box. I'll better read the manual carefully.

Scud
The main menu music is very loud indepenent from the main volume. Reducing the volume of my speakers or the overall volume may reduce the volume of the menu music but makes ingame sounds too silent. This is why I asked. And I certainly don't need to read a computer manual too reduce the volume of my speakers.
