The 64th Naval Inf Brigade upgrades to a Rifle Division and gets renamed the 82nd Rifle Division.

82nd Rifle Division already existed so now there are 2.

There is only one '82nd Rifle Division' in the data that converts from the 64th Naval Infantry Brigade. I have no idea where the second one came from.

95% certain it came from the merger of 2 Rifle Brigades.

Can you try to go back through your saves and see when this other 82nd rifle division came into existence. If you find it, see if you can duplicate it. We need to try to figure out what part of the game is ignoring the fact that there is going to be an 82nd rifle division later on (which should block it from naming another unit the 82nd).

I have now created the 82nd Rifle division through the Buildup (Rifle Brigade) function 3 times now.

It would appear that in terms of unit numbering Buildup function and the Build New Unit function are out of sync.

I started to build new rifle divisions and it created the 103rd, 109th etc.

Then I started to create new RDs via Buildup of Rifle Brigades and it created like the 67th, 75th and then the 82nd.

So I would check the code that creates an RD from 2 Rifle Brigades for a start.

Thanks for the analysis as that does appear to be the likely issue. Do you happen to have a save right before a buildup of brigades where it named one incorrectly (like the 82nd which led to the duplication after the rename)? It can make it a lot easier for the programmers to find the routine and verify the fix if we've got a save to work from. You can zip and attach here or email to 2by3@2by3games.com if you have one. I can create new units at the start of StoB using brigades, but it doesn't show the bug.

No worries. I will attach T46 which is where I noticed the output as per my post no 4 above. I think....

Thanks, that's just what I needed. Was able to replicate it and put it on the bug list. Thanks for figuring out what was causing the duplicate naming.
