You're docked but in TF. Nothing will happen except readiness repairs until you disband, and then I'd recommend going into drydock.

Platoonist -> RE: Eastern repairs not working??? (7/11/2021 12:30:10 AM)

Disband the current task force it's in. Then put it in the shipyard.

Disregard, its fixed, thanks guys

1. Disband the TF

2. Open port screen, click the little arrow next to "manage ships under repair".

That arrow won't appear until you disband the TF, it will be under "load tenders on this list".

You can then send your BB to the shipyard, where its flotation, and major engine, damage will be repaired.

The remaining system and minor engine (if any) damage might repair more quickly tied up pierside than in the shipyard, which the "manage ships ..." screen will tell you when you get to that point.

Interesting Ian - I used to do pier side repairs before going into drydock. It seemed to work faster. Going straight into drydock it seemed the repairs focused on the sys damage and not the serious flotation/engine/etc damage.

RangerJoe -> RE: Eastern repairs not working??? (7/11/2021 1:05:07 PM)

Pier side repairs uses naval support while the shipyard repairs do not.

When Shipyard space is limited, I do pier side repair first until space opens up....GP

That depends on the repair bands. If System damage is significantly higher than the Flotation or Engineering damage, it is repaired first down to the band level of the other two, but if the Flotation and Engineering damage are at the same band, they will repair first before the system damage. Yes if you have higher bands of sys damage than float. In general terms, I think most people tidy up the system and minor damage of any ship with major float damage at a forward repair anchorage with ARs, before sending it out over blue water and back to the shipyard.

There were some discussions of "shuffling" between pierside and shipyard mode a few years back - that is putting the ship (with sys damage) pierside to get faster repair work, and when it hit 80-90% of a repair, moving it into the shipyard to get that accumulated work expended on float damage that does not repair pierside.

Also, can anyone confirm that ARDs will repair the most grievous of float damage, but won't repair >5 (or perhaps any) major engine damage? In other words, if you have an ARD and ARs etc and naval support by the hundreds in a size 7 port you can repair 99 sys*, 99 major float ... and only 5 or less major engine damage?

[*subject to weapons replacements repairs, but 7 ports with beaucoup naval support aren't too bad on that work].

Nomad -> RE: Eastern repairs not working??? (7/11/2021 11:01:08 PM)

From the manual:

ARD May assist repair of any ship type, but only floatation
damage; may repair Major floatation damage

RangerJoe -> RE: Eastern repairs not working??? (7/11/2021 11:31:27 PM)

The ships may move in an out of an ARD as needed, I have seen it done by the computer when the ship is in pier side.

Ian R -> RE: Eastern repairs not working??? (7/14/2021 7:27:47 AM)

I just tested it - my forward base in a level 7 port with about 600 nav support, an ARD and some ARs was able to clean up all the float damage, all the sys damage, and some minor engine damage on a torpedoed ship - but the ship then had to head down to Garden Island to get the >5 major engine damage repaired.
