Mates,

I'am having trouble supplying bases in Northern Australia.

I wanted to build airfields at Fenton and Katheren but I can't get supply to build these bases?

I don't have the manual, and this is my first go at this game, having leaned on the hopp by watching the UTube tewts by you blokes.

I the war we (RAAF and USAAF) built bomber bases at Fenton and along the track to Katheren, a major depot. But I can't do it?

Darwin has over 100,000 supplies and the same for fuel, but none can get down, the supply run from the South stops at Alice Springs, and none seams to go north after that?

Can you help get me some supply to these towns?

Cheers

S.B

The manual is in a sub folder of your game folder with the name "Manuals", there is no reason why you shouldn't have it.

You can force supply into these basis by increasing the demand either manually or by stationing units there.
In the base screen on the left side should be a line "Supplies" that shows your current amount of supply and a line "Supplies required" that you can increase by sliders.
Be aware that the game will try to bring 3x the amount that you define under "Supplies required" to the base and look out for spoilage.

If you want to know more about supply I would suggest consulting this guide and the manual:

Just a random question, but have you at some point turned the stockpile button on at Darwin?

The only way to get supply to Darwin is to ship it up there. A string of single ship TFs chugging up the coast from Perth takes care of that without attracting attention, unless the IJ builds up an air presence on Timor. There is a railway line south from Darwin, so supply will flow down if activities at the bases create a demand, and Darwin has plenty.

Move your construction engineers there (the Katherine BF only has 2 engineers, it will take them until 1951 to build it up) and put them to work; supply will flow down sufficient to meet demand.

Good Advice.

Here is an example with a small supply level set for Katherine, just enough to keep the base force supplied and the engineers building.

Darwin has 600k supply.

It shouldn't be an issue getting supply to Fenton and Katherine due to the major road link to Darwin.
It's the bases further inland on the secondary road that struggle to get supply.

Plus 1

Additionally if you move some units (RAAF Eng and M/W Eng) to Normantown Au you can build up the base (Port / Airfield) and ship supply in the same manner to Darwin.

As recommended low value (low endurance low VP total) xAKs operating from a built up Normantown work effectively keeping Northern Australia supplied.

The 'added advantage' to a Normantown base is that it is connected to Sydney via 'good roads' and rails fairly directly.

In the late war if recapture certain Japanese bases in the DEI and you need to dump fuel /oil into Australia or feel so inclined Normantown will spread it out.
