It would be great if in Letterbox you get a notice if one of your linear tech goes above certain threshold such as 50% and then 75%.

As this research ongoing can be forgotten about sometimes when you are focused on fighting a war or whatnot, especially for new players who might not remember there is two types of research in the game. So perhaps an additional note is made in the report that it is nearly impossible to reach 100% research in linear tech, to remind the new player.

Or just regularly remind you about ongoing research (linear or binary), like it's already the case for budgets.

I'd be okay with a message every time it crossed a 10% or 20% threshold - I normally top out linear research at 55-65% in any field by the end of a game on medium speed. Although TBH, what really prompts me to change is progress getting under 5% per turn (if I have no other pressing linear research) or 10% (if I've got other things needing immediate attention).
