Is research capped at 10 planes?

mark dolby -> RE: Reasearch (7/23/2021 4:40:24 PM)

Yes, 10 complete frames, engines and parts for the type you are researching. Note a twin engined type will need 2 engines each even in research.
Any more is a waste.
Obviously you can research more than one type at a time, again up to a max of 10.

The best part of this game has been removed.

Best to leave this game on the shelf or am I missing something?

Research was developed and modified by harley/Hard Sarge after 1.02 but before the new crew took over. We never touched it, so I don't know how to answer your question. I do know that the Axis AI has a crap ton of jets of all types flying by late 1944 in the campaign games. I was thinking that whatever the status of research it was overly easy.

Its been awhile since I played but my understanding is that players agreed upon a good set of rules to balance research.

What are the effects of the new research changes?

Is there a list of expected arrival dates of planes if they had 10 planes on research?

I'm not sure on the dates you could possibly get advanced aircraft into service.
Obviously you will not be able to research all the types available so different players will have personal choices at the front.
I have read of 190D coming into service 3/44 with the 109K not far behind.
In my own experience over 2 long campaigns where I took notes I have had these results:
He219A2 20/11/43 and 10/43
109G5AS 11/43
110G4R7 11/43 and 9/11/43
Me262 6/44
190D9 4/44
Ju88G 2/44 and 2/3/44
109G14 4/44
Ta154 5/44

Not all of these types had a full research allotment, especially the 262 and 154 each needing 4 engines. Also some of the larger airframe/engine plants take a long time to convert to the new types.
Also I tend to favour the NJG for getting new types into service.

Gone are the days of 190D, Ta152 and 262 swarming over the skies of the Reich in Dec '43!
