Biergarten -> Editor Problem ? (7/24/2021 3:03:34 AM)

Hi - would appreciate some guidance here. I am trying to open a User Campaign cgn in the editor (the 1938 Calm Before The Storm). Kept getting "FAILED (retrieve): File Read Error." All the User ones were same. The default ones worked fine to open. Any suggestions as to what is wrong?
Thanks!!

I can't open it, either - the error says that convoy.txt can't be found. The scenario seems to play OK, even though I'm confused about the Guderian heavy tank unit (what heavy tanks did the Germans have in 1938?). Anyway, I can't open it in the editor but maybe the community pack ones are locked?

Hi,

If it is a Community Pack campaign, it unfortunately cannot be opened from the community pack folder.

What you'll have to do is move it to the USER folder on your PC, typically this folder path here:

\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Campaigns

Then try opening it again from there, hope this helps,
Hubert

Hi Hubert - it's there in My Games, both the cgn and dat files. Editor still won't open it. Dilemma.

I copied across the cgn and the _1938... folder to the custom campaigns folder and can open the scenario. Did you copy across the campaign folder?

Hi all - ok, fixed! Copied the files from the community pack campaigns to my games. Dates for those in my games were all over the place so I replaced al the custom games folders, cgn and dats. Dear El_Condoro - if this is what you were talking about, then THANKS!!!!!!Sometimes I just need a little push in the right direction .....

Glad to hear you got it working.
