ORIGINAL: Kull The thing to remember is the Allies did much the same as every AE newbie. Mistake after mistake during the early part of the war. Not quite enough stuff, not enough of that in the right locations, and then a full assortment of bone-headed moves. After all, it was a "learning cliff" for the Allies, too. Not many folks remember that in late 1942 the US was down to a single aircraft carrier in the South Pacific (Enterprise) and that one was damaged. Almost any newbie will do better than that! And sure enough, about half way through 1942 the logistics are swinging in your favor, and by early 1943 the floodgates are opening and you begin to acquire all sorts of new (and better) equipment. By 1944 you'll have more than you know what to do with, and those opening campaign mistakes will be a distant memory, with little to no impact on your inevitable victory. I think I will look at my PP problem as as Commander In Chief of all Pacific Forces I said something stupid to the press corps and I need a big victory now[:D]. Now, my new problem is mismanagement of my CV Dive Bombers airframe replacements. I still have all 6 of the first USN CVs, but Saratoga and Enterprise are in pearl for lack of aircraft. I least Saratoga was due for a refit anyway. This has gotten me back into again rereading the manual. At this point I have a little more foundation and the finer points are getting easier to soak in. BTW, I used your spreadsheet for the start of this particular game.[sm=bow.gif]
