Kursk1943 -> Why surrender?? (8/18/2021 12:20:42 PM)

Campaign 1941 no early end as axis. I attacked a Soviet stack (not isolated) and 2 of 3 units surrendered, Did a second try, now 1 routed, 1 retreated and 1 surrendered.
Surrender does not conform with the surrender rules in my opinion. A bug?

Save attached. I moved 29th MD from 230/125 to 231/126 and attacked the stack at 232/126.

It appears that last logistics phase run was 1.01.03. There was a known bug that came in around .02, IIRC, where surrenders were happening when they shouldn't. This was fixed in 1.01.07. However, you need to run through a logistics phase before this is truly fixed, as some units were having data set incorrectly in the logistics phase that could lead to them to surrender instead of routing. It was an issue at the unit level, so you can see differences from unit to unit in the same battle. If not isolated, the units should not surrender, but instead should rout or shatter. There may be something buried in the code that allows very bad morale units to surrender in some non-isolated cases, but this has not been confirmed.

Bottom line, if you are using 1.01.03, you should move to 1.01.07. The hotfix is available in the forum, and the installer is being worked on now. We don't have an ETA on when it will be available. If you have problems using the hotfix, please ask questions in the hotfix thread and we can try to help you and your questions help others that have the same issues. Thanks.

Oh, I hadn't realised there is another hotfix. Thanks for the reminder.
Not that I've been particularily unhappy about some unexpected Soviet surrender...[:D]
