This is just a question, but I could give a save later if needed...

Let's say an EFAB factory with capacity 8 and producing DB605As takes 87% damage after an Allied raid. Would that mean that the production rate of DB605As would be reduced by some amount, say, by 7 units/day? Or production is paused for some amount of time, or...something? I would expect then that my actual production would lag behind my planned production at this point. However, that is not necessarily what I am seeing. Are actual production rates of engines, component parts, and airframes actually directly affected by damage to their respective factories, or is all of that abstracted somehow?

Once any factory damage exceeds 49% the production stops. For A/C production, the closer the damage is to 50 the less likely anything will be produced that day.

Nearby rail center damage, ball bearings and aluminum factory damage also impacts the ability to produce an assembled A/C replacement.

Also, planned production includes factories online or within 35 days of coming online.

Okay, thanks. I think that I understand.

So let's say that a number of EFAB factories accounting for roughly half of the DB605A capacity are above 50% damage. The production planner will always SAY that the engine production number (prd) is, say 30. But in reality, the stockpiled engines (stk) will drain out in a few days, and then the production of actual DB605A-engined replacement aircraft will be ~15/day total instead of 30 (assuming no damage to parts or assembly), correct? That seems to be what I am seeing.

It might have been more intuitive in the aircraft-specific production planner to say, highlight the non-functional damaged factories in red and then only give the actual production (prd), to make it obvious that the actual production is way below planned (pln) because of damage- and not say, retooling. To put it another way, it seems to me that there are actually three concepts- what is my CURRENT PLANNED production?, what is my FUTURE PLANNED production?, and what is my CURRENT ACTUAL production?. The "prd" seems to be the first concept, but not the last, though I think the last concept is as useful.

Does the the the stockpile number (stk) represent a 1:1 indication of the engines in stock available for assembly?

What you are saying is also my understanding of the stock and production mechanics. Production coding was nicely re-designed by harley so it would take me some time to sift through it to see really what is happening.
