dtatum -> Restoring a Saved Game--Multiplayer (8/26/2021 5:24:22 PM)

I am trying to restore a saved game, but it keeps kicking me out to the forum (green screen), rather than loading the saved game. Reading the manual, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Help! dontatum@hotmail.com

Both players need to have the saved game you are trying to restore - with matching Next Entry Numbers.

If the save were made automatically by the program, then both players should have matching copies.

The same is true if one player chose to made a saved game, entering a name for the saved game. The program sends the name of the save to the other player and they should match.

A couple odd notes about saved games: NetPlay saved games have 'NP - ' prefixed to the front of the name, to denote that it is a NetPlay saved game. Head-to-head saved games have 'H2H - ' prefixed to the front of the name. In both cases, the program adds ' - xx' to the end of the name, where xx is the abbreviation of the current major power (e.g., Ge, Ja, USSR). For NetPlay games that means that the Allied player may have a saved game 'NP - AABBCC - USSR.GAM' while the Axis player has a saved game 'NP - AABBCC - Ge.GAM'. As long as the Next Entry #s match, the program doesn't really care what the names are.
