Good evening, I just got the game,

my 1st question is: where can I post DB3000 database queries?

the query is about the right AA missile for a 1980's version of Su-22M; in the database it is showing AA-2a (R-3s); this would be accurate for the 60s up until the 70s.

However, by the 1980s, this missile was superseded by the later version (developed in the mid 70s) which was the AA-2c Advanced Atoll (R-13M)

Countries like Libya or Peru utilized the Fitter not only as strike aircraft, but also as a fighter/ interceptor (e.g. Gulf of Sidra incident). As far as I know, they purchased the dogfight-capable version, as the early 60s version wouldn't make any sense in a 1980s battlefield

For DB3K. You may want to add links to evidence or photos etc.
Thanks

There are about a dozen versions in the DB, so you should probably indicate if they would they all be the same or if there were some nations did not get/use the AA-2C.

The problem may be that there doesn't seem to be an mid-80's Soviet Su-22M in the game. The Su-22 is the export version of the Su-17. https://man.fas.org/dod-101/sys/ac/row/su-17.htm Reviewing the database shows only the ground-attack Afghanistan Mod for the Su-17 in the mid-to-late 1980's timeframe for the Soviet Union. Consequentially, this may be more of a database addition to add a mid-1980's Su-17M to the database, rather than a modification of existing database entries.

Probably because the Soviets wouldn't have any use for a AA capable Su-17 in the 1980s onwards

that said, in the database, I can see that Peruvian Su-22M-3K Fitters are (correctly) upgraded to AA-8 in 1998 (after a poor showing on Cenepa's war of 1995)
which means that it is possible to have independent database entries for different countries

If a new entry is added, I think it would make sense to have both R-3 and R-13 as another optional weapon loadout

Since you are new to the game, you probably didn't realize that all aircraft loadouts are specific to the country, based on when the country purchased or achieved initial operational capability for a given piece of weaponry to go along with a given aircraft. For example, take a look at the plethora of loadouts for the various F-16s flown by different countries.

FYI, if you want to see the entire database, select the "Create a New Scenario" option on the load screen. Then you get to see the entire database when you use the database viewer. If you see missing entries, or database errors, go to https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3436106 to request changes. The team will also consider hypothetical weapon load outs, if you can provide reasons for making the change. When possible, always give one or more sources to back up your request. Of note, there are over 7000 posts on that particular board, so you can see the community and CMO team work very closely in their efforts to make the database as comprehensive and accurate as possible.
