James80 -> no freight in Smolensk - Operation Typhoon (8/31/2021 6:29:46 AM)

Hi,

I am playing operation typhoon with 1.01.07 beta.

Although I have connected Smolensk for a few turns there is noch freight coming in. I can't figure out why not. It doesn't have to be a bug. Perhaps it is WAD and I am just running out of train capacity. Perhaps someone more experienced could have a look. If a savegame is required just hint me to it [&o]

Regards

James

Yes, I'll need a save to look at this. You can find it in the /dat/save directory. Look for the directory with the main exe in it. Did you check your logistics report (shift-e) to see what depots are shipping out freight, and which are getting freight (near the top of the repot)? Ideally I'd like a save from the prior Soviet turn as well as your start of turn save from the screenshot. Zip them up and attach them here, or email them to 2by3@2by3games.com.

Hey Joel,

here are the savegames. Hope you can explain it to me. In the logistics report I haven't found Smolensk listed

Thanks for the save. I can't really explain it, unless it has something to do with the fact that the only NSS's on the map have limited freight and/or there is limited rail capacity. But that doesn't explain why depots with lower priority are getting things. I did advance the game and on turn 6 Smolensk got freight, although I think I reduced some depots in the rear to 0 priority. I will add this to our bug list for Gary to look at. It could be that changes since release have had an unexpected impact on smaller scenarios with limited freight National Supply Sources like Typhoon. If so we'll likely have to make a change of some kind, if only to boost the NSS capacities in some scenarios.

BTW, you are probably in trouble no matter what since you've only captured 100k Soviet troops while historically they pocketed and destroyed at least 300k in the first 3 weeks of the scenario.
