5000 ethnic Kalmyks formed a an independent cavalry unit of the Wehrmacht in 1942. This unit could be added to the German OB upon or after the capture of Elista. Self styled as the Kalmyk Cavalry Corps, it is a brigade sized unit. For historic flavour it could simply be added to the Soviet Union Garrison TB as it dealt mostly with partisans.
