Is AI in megacampaigns pre-programmed to be more sophisticated in any way vs a scenario or a quick battle? What about user generated campaigns?

I guess the short answer would be yes. One would hope that the creators of the campaigns would craft a solidly directed AI. It helps that usually campaigns have only been attempted by the more experienced players.

Having played them for so long, I would say that the AI does seem to be better programmed.
