kch -> set up files (9/30/2021 9:47:10 PM)

hi. Just bought the game but I am struggling a little bit despite checking the forum. I cant seem to find any set up files for the deploy phase. When the game does not seem to recognise any. Do they have to be in a specific location? I just did the default destination for the installation. Even when trying to open set up files that other players have uploaded then the game simply doesnt seem to recognise them as a valid file. Any ideas?

The first time you run the game and try to select a setup, you should get a window looking the correct directory. Go to \Empires in Arms\Setups wherever you have the game installed. You should be able to select a setup. Next time you run the game, it should default to the \Setups directory you selected.

What other setup files from other players? Old files from a decade ago may not work with the updated scenarios. I recommend players start playing with the provided scenarios as is, and then look to editing the updated setups.

Ok thanks. When the game couldnt find any files then I tried to download some different ones. I will try to again today, but the game is definitely not looking in the right location (it goes to a network folder rather than a folder on C:). What would be the default path the right folder. As I didnt change anything then I would expect it to be located there.

Works perfect now.

FWIW, this appears to work correctly in the remastered installer version I tested today. The code does check for setups in the default directory. Not sure why this wasn't working in the patch update but seems OK now. The remastered installer should be posted soon.
