Hello all:

Just got done reinstalling WITP:AE on my new PC. While tweaking things I did a bit of work on a couple sounds.

First, I found a set of two click sounds (1016.sfx "click" and 1017.sfx "click mouse") I am happy with, so I wanted to upload them for the community to consider. I find the default ones a bit too loud to hear constantly as we all know how many marathon click-fests WITP requires. Let me know what you think. Perhaps the one is a bit too soft, but as it is for closing windows, I find it just about right.

*Please backup the originals in the SOUNDS folder for WITP:AE by clicking on the filename and changing the suffix (sfx) to bak. So it should be 1016.bak, etc. The game will ignore this and you can leave it right where it is in case you don't like the new one. Just change it back to .sfx after deleting the mod file first.

The second set of sounds I replaced are the invasion boats. The Dev team created two files (1067.sfx & 1068.sfx), however, they just duplicated one track for both. The larger issue that I imagine most of you noticed is the horrific "SNICK, SNICK, SNICK" noise embedded in the background of the original recording.

So after some digging around on the net, I found a launch/motorboat sound that seems to fit the occasion. It might not be all that "accurate", but it is better than the original and each file is slightly different. The first is the boat accelerating with a splash in the beginning, the second is mid-throttle and then deceleration.

Use the same method to backup your original files in SOUNDS first, then copy these to the SOUNDS folder and enjoy!
