Hi Everyone,

We have a remastered setup installer for you to use!

It is the latest version of the game v1.23.08.

If you have the latest update/version already installed, you will not need to use this of course...but say you have recently upgraded your PC and want to re-install EIA- You will be able to do so with our new remaster installer! And it will bring you right up to date!

Happy gaming everyone and have a nice day :)

Sam

I'm up to date, but good to know for future reference. Does this still require safe mode for win10 installations or will it work 'out of the box'?

Will_L -> RE: New Remastered Installer! (10/13/2021 12:43:17 AM)

The new installer worked fine for me earlier today.

SamSlitherine -> RE: New Remastered Installer! (10/13/2021 12:13:42 PM)

No need to install in safe mode anymore :)

Game installed easily for me. Now on to the manual :)
Thanks so much for rebuilding this game.

IMPORTANT NOTE. Players should create a \Battles folder in their Empires in Arms directory. I've noted that the remaster fails to do this. It is only necessary for PBEM battle exchanges, and I'm not sure if the game automatically creates this if missing or gives an error message. It's easy enough to right-click your game directory and add a new folder, if you intend to join PBEM games.

UPDATE. I apparently had the beta remaster in My Files for download and not the updated final remaster. I've gone back and forth with Sam to get the correct installer and verified the \Battles folder is created as intended. Please ignore, unless you notice you are missing the \Battles folder.

As an experiment, I uninstalled my game and reinstalled it using the new installer. Now on some menus, the game uses a default san-serif font that is too large. Did uninstalling the game remove a font that isn't replaced by the new installer? Or is a font missing from the new installation?

After new remaster install I have the same problem the text is to big for some menus, still trying to figure out how to fix the issue.

Hey guys, check out Windows 10 Font Issue. Maybe you need to install "Quixley LET" font again. Let me know if that fixes this issue or if we have some new issue. If EIA was running fine before, you should still have the font in your C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Is this maybe a Win 11 issue?

UPDATE. Maple Leaf also reported this problem to me and reinstalling the Quixley font resolved the issue for him. AFAIK, this is not an installer issue. I'm not sure why an uninstall may have affected this font, as I also uninstalled my old EIA versions and reinstalled with the remaster without noticing any font problem.

Yep that fixed it, I'm running Windows 10 and somehow Quixley LET font was missing? All good now many thanks.[:)]

Fixed for me too!

I suppose it is a problem with the old uninstall script.

Very good. Not sure what the uninstall may be doing that would affect C:\Windows\Fonts files, but who knows. I have pinned the Font Issue post to the top of the Tech Support forum for easier reference by others.
