Chris21wen -> What's What in CMO (10/15/2021 4:29:16 PM)

Had it a long time but not played for nearly as long but now slightly confused.

I have CMO and CMO modern ops but current only installed CMO.

Can you confirm that CMO MO is a DLC and will not work without CMO.

The manual that comes with CMO is the basic manual for CMO and any DLC.
The manuual that comes with CMO MO(via separate download) applies only to that DLC and supercedes the original manaul. If I download any other DLC they will aslo come with a separate manual, doing the same thing as the CMO MO manual.

I don't really understand your question. I've never heard of a product, DLC or otherwise, called CMO modern ops. The current CMO is a sequel to CMANO, which adds a bunch of improvements. CMO is the base game, and all DLCs just add scenarios that run off the same engine.

I'm confused...what on Earth is CMO MO?

To briefly recap the developmental history from a consumer standpoint:

Command Modern Operations (CMO) is the successor to Command Modern Air/Naval Operations (CMANO). The two are standalone games purchased separately (although I don't believe CMANO is for sale anymore). A number of DLCs have been released for both games. The CMANO DLCs (Northern Inferno, Chains of War, Desert Storm, Shifting Sands, and The Silent Service) could be purchased and run as standalone applications or could be added as scenario packs to CMANO. There were also a number of single scenario DLCs (the Live DLCs) released that required CMANO to use.

In 2018, CMO was released. All previously purchased CMANO DLCs work with CMO (and can still be purchased as DLCs for use in CMO only). An additional DLC (Kashmir Fire) was released for CMO, with a second DLC (Red Tide) scheduled to be released soon. Several additional Live DLCs have also been released. All DLCs purchased after CMO 1) only work with CMO (so they are not backwards compatible with CMANO) and 2) require the base game to use (at least on Steam. I can't speak for the Slitherine/Matrix store).

Hopefully this answers your question.

My guess is that he meant to say "I have CMANO and CMO ..."
Just my guess.

Give him a break. Maybe just a tired player working day and night within the broken supply chain and trying to get back into the game after a long day. I don't understand the questions either, but let's help out when we do.

Sorry about the confusion, now you know how I feel. I did indeed mean CMANO and CMO. My thoughts were CMO was a DLC for CMANO which is wrong.

Thanks

Now I've got that sorted, next question.

What's the difference between CMO and CMO live.

nukkxx5058 -> RE: What's What in CMO (10/17/2021 7:50:02 AM)

LIVE is just a series of single scenario DLCs. They cost little money (2.5 euros) and scenarios are rather large and complex, and good.
