bstarr -> a couple of questions (10/17/2021 6:42:34 PM)

1) How do the filters work in the aircraft database? I’m pretty sure they allow certain loadouts for specific mission types, but what filter numbers allow what missions? Any advice on using filters?

2) do depth charges added to planes work like normal depth charges or like bombs?

3) I just played an HtH solo game in which literally no subs were sunk in the first six months of the war and very few were damaged. I even assigned ASW groups to patrol routes in which they were purposely directed into hexes patrolled by enemy subs and at one point I parked a damaged jap sub one hex from Pearl Harbor and set every plane capable of ASW missions to ASW for a week and still couldn’t sink it. I realize ASW gets deadlier once the better gear and better escort experience kicks in but does anyone have any ideas for upping the deadliness of ASW warfare early in the game? I don’t want to go too far with it, but I would like to see a little more action.

Aircraft loadouts: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3185771&mpage=1&key=filter

There are no actual depth charges in the game, they are all bombs

ASW, train, train, and train so more. You will need to get your aircrews to around 70 ASW rating to be effective.
Ships with ASW, you need to make sure they are on patrol, give them good leaders and it will take some months for them
to get to 55 night experience. You will also need aircraft trained in Naval Search, they will locate the subs and the
ships can then go in and try to sink them.
